Elegant pair of antique Victorian micro mosaic conversion earrings crafted in 18k yellow gold (circa 1880s to 1900s).

The micro mosaic mounts measures 9.5mm (0.37 inches). The mounts are in good condition (some small chips to the outer edges).

Micro mosaic jewelry was very popular during the Victorian era when jewelry was brought back as a souvenir from foreign travels. Tiny pieces of glass were used to make small figurative images of Rome, framed in circular 18k gold mounts. The earrings depict buildings of Rome including the Colosseum along with another Roman monument. The earrings were recently converted to post and butterfly backings.

The earrings are in good condition and were recently professionally cleaned and polished.
