Overview:
Stylish vintage Portuguese amethyst & enamel ring (circa 1960s) crafted in 19 karat yellow gold.
Faceted round cut amethyst measures 5mm (estimated at 0.65 carats). The amethyst is in good condition with a few light surface abrasions visible under a 10x loupe).
The beautifully made Portuguese ring highlights black, green and dots of red enamel, a hallmark of pieces from the region. The amethyst is a lovely color contrast to the lively enamel. The side shoulders feature an elaborate design with shell and scrolled detailing. The statement ring adds a nice pop of color on the hand. The medium rise ring (8mm - 0.31 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
The ring is in very good condition. We have not cleaned the ring in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
