Distinct and beautifully made antique Portuguese crescent moon brooch crafted in 19 karat Portuguese yellow gold and silver (circa 1887 - 1932). 

A great example of antique Portuguese jewelry with a classic crescent moon motif. Shimmering old mine and rose cut diamonds are set into the silver topped mount. The crescent moon motif holds a mystical and enduring charm with a timeless connection to the cosmic world. Currently wearable as a brooch, the piece can be converted to a pendant with a bale addition.

The brooch is in good condition and was lightly cleaned and polished. Patina is evident yet preserved for collector value.  
The piece was acquired on a recent trip to Portugal, one of Europe's most exciting destinations for discovering exceptional antique and vintage jewelry. Metal & Hallmark:  19 karat yellow gold (800) and silver (833). The brooch is hallmarked with the Lisbon assay mark and is circa 1887 - 1932. Illegible marker's mark also stamped. Please note that vintage and pre-owned jewelry may test slightly below the stamped or tested standard due to manufacturing tolerances, alloy variations, age, solder content, or wear. The piece may test from 16k to 18.8k gold with XRF methods.
