Antique Edwardian Bow Drop Necklace Platinum 14k Gold Vintage Fine Jewelry

$3,850.00

Overview:

Finely detailed antique Edwardian era bow drop necklace (circa 1900s to 1910s), crafted in 900 platinum and 14 karat yellow gold.

The two larger old mine cut diamonds at the base of the necklace are each estimated at 0.22 carats. The bow features an estimated 0.10 carat old mine cut diamond. Old rose cut diamonds (estimated at approx. 0.01 carats) are set into the remainder of the necklace. The total diamond weight is estimated at 0.94 carats (estimated at I-J color and SI1-12 clarity).

The top of the necklace is modeled as a bow or ribbon with the central panels (and entire pendant drop) overlaid with fine mille grain and pierced detailing. The diamonds are embedded into a 900 platinum mounting with a 14 karat yellow gold base. The chain is original to the piece, crafted in 900 platinum. Frills and bows were at the peak of fashion and enjoyed great popularity in the early 20th century. The necklace is a wonderful example of Edwardian era jewelry and would make an ideal gift to the bride or a special piece of antique jewelry to pass down through the generations.

The necklace is in excellent original condition. It has not been cleaned in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
