Vintage 3.25ct Diamond Art Deco Necklace Platinum 17" Sapphire Estate Jewelry

$4,600.00

Overview:

Finely detailed vintage Art Deco era diamond necklace (circa 1920s to 1930s), crafted in 14 karat white gold (chain) and platinum.

Old European cut diamonds total an estimated 3.25 carats. Small French cut sapphires (lab) accent the mount. The diamonds are estimated at I-J color and VS2-I2 clarity.

Bold and distinct in design, the necklace makes a great statement! Originally a brooch, the piece was converted for wear as a necklace with an applied 17 inch 14k white gold chain.

Three prominent old-cut diamonds form the visual center of the piece, surrounded by an intricate mosaic of smaller diamonds arranged within geometric channels, scrolls and architectural motifs. Narrow sections of deep blue French cut sapphires (lab) provide dramatic flashes of color against the white metal and diamonds. Fine millegrain edging further highlights the individual settings and gives the jewel the extraordinarily detailed surface associated with high-quality jewelry of the 1920s and early 1930s. Suspended from a fine 14k white gold chain, the necklace sits horizontally rather than vertically, allowing the entire diamond-set composition to be seen in a more unique east to west position when worn.

The necklace is in very good original condition and was lightly cleaned and polished.
