Overview:
Elegant pair of antique Victorian enamel earrings crafted in 18k yellow gold (circa 1870s to 1880s).
Beautifully realistic enamel hand painted miniatures depict the side profile of a woman. Gold pressed foil trims to the hair and clothing add a subtle sheen to the portraits in what appears to be armor or possibly an embellishment to an elaborate costume. However you view the portraits they are unmistakably unique and beautiful in construction. Smaller in scale the earrings measure 15mm x 12mm (0.59 x 0.47 inches). The earrings are fitted with post and butterfly backings for pierced ears (later addition to the earrings).
The earrings are in good original condition with patina evident. We have not cleaned them in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
