Distinct antique Victorian Chatelaine pill box pendant (circa 1880s to 1900s) crafted in 10 karat rose gold.
With beautiful hand engraved details including a cascading floral display framing the letter "A", the pill box opens to accommodate a photo or keepsake. The dual purpose treasure highlights how Victorian jewelry blended adornment with everyday utility. Women's clothing of the era often lacked functional pockets, so small containers were worn as pendants, attached to chains or added to chatelaines. The beautiful piece is still practical today as it is a work of art. Wearable as a unique ring (size 11) with the pill box or the piece can be modified for wear as a pendant.
The pendant is in good condition. We have not cleaned the piece in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
