The outer case features a textured pattern with a cartouche engraved with the initials "D.L.C"

The lower portion of the piece can be removed to reveal the pencil. As far as we can tell the pencil is original to the piece (it has been used over the years). A great piece to wear on a necklace alone or layered with your other pieces.
