Overview:
Distinct antique Victorian micro mosaic ring crafted in 14k yellow gold (circa 1880s to 1900s).
Small glass 'tiles' adorn the mount to create the cherub motif.
The beautifully detailed ring highlights two cherubs holding a basket of flowers. Created with tiny pieces of black and white tesserae the scene is set into a round rope detailed mount. Micro mosaic plaques were often acquired as souvenirs on Grand Tours and brought back to be fashioned into jewelry locally. We believe the band to be a later addition to the piece. The ring is one of the best examples of Victorian micro mosaic jewelry with the condition very good considering its age.
We have not cleaned the ring in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
