Alex Sepkus Sticks & Stones Dendritic Opal Pendant Diamond 18k Gold Estate

$5,975.00

Overview:

Finely detailed Alex Sepkus dendritic opal & diamond pendant crafted in 18k yellow gold from the 'Sticks & Stones' collection.

The dendritic opal measures 59mm (2.32 inches) x 30mm (1.18 inches). One estimated 0.03 carat diamond is set into the bale (estimated at F-G color and VVS2 clarity).
Found all over the world, the dendritic opal is a fascinating and unusual variety of opal. The plumes that form within the stone resemble ferns, moss, or trees, like a captivating miniature forest. This type of pattern is more commonly found in agates (moss agate) with the dendritic opal quite a rare find. No two patterns are the same, with the plumes highlighted in sunset orange that glow in natural sunlight, supported with an 18k gold diamond set bale.

The beautifully made pendant is crafted by Alex Sepkus, who sadly recently passed away. He was a master jeweler known for quirky, playful jewelry. The pendant is one of the best pieces we have come across from his collection. His use of interesting and unexpected stones is a hallmark of his remarkable jewelry designs.

The pendant is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
