Carimati Vintage 18k Gold Pendant Geometric Obelisk Italian Modernist 1970s

$8,572.00

Overview:

Striking and highly sculptural Carimati pendant crafted in 18 karat yellow gold (circa 1970s to 1980s).

Carimati was a Milan-born jewelry designer of noble descent who established a presence in New York, operating an elegant Madison Avenue jewelry salon in the late 1970s to early 1980s. Enrico Carimati became West Coast director of Harry Winston in 1987.

This pendant is an especially compelling example of the house's more modernist, architectural designs. Fashioned as an extraordinarily elongated tapered form, it resembles an obelisk, pyramid, prism or abstract architectural spire. Deeply defined longitudinal planes converge toward a dramatic point, transforming a seemingly simple geometric object into a miniature piece of wearable sculpture. The piece is great worn alone as a statement or layered.

The pendant is a limited edition piece and is signed and numbered 21/50.

The pendant is in very good condition with light wear evident. We have not cleaned the piece in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
