Overview:
Bold and distinct antique Victorian snake ring, crafted in 10 karat yellow gold (circa 1880s to 1900s).
Turquoise measures 20mm x 15mm. One estimated 0.05 carat old mine cut diamonds is set into the snake's head (estimated at I-J color and SI2-I1 clarity. The turquoise exhibits natural fissures (inherent to the stone).
For centuries the snake has represented eternal love and faithfulness. The elaborate snake with its lifelike scale detail terminates to the diamond set head. The tail coils around the large oval mount. The ring was re-modeled with a new split shank band added. The snake mount is Victorian with a very soft rose gold hue and the new band in yellow gold. The medium rise (8.5mm - 0.33 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
The ring is in very good condition and was lightly cleaned and polished.
