Overview:
Stylish antique Victorian era ring (circa 1880s to 1900s), crafted in 14 karat yellow gold.
Cabochon cut opal measures 9mm x 5mm, accented with 4 estimated 0.05 carat old mine cut diamonds. The total diamond weight is estimated at 0.20 carats (estimated at I-J color and SI2-I2 clarity). The opal is in very good condition and free of cracks or chips.
Set in an east to west design, the opal is surrounded with sparkling old mine cut diamonds. The opal shows a nice play of color with flashes of green, purple, turquoise and yellow. The ring was re-shanked with the band a later addition to the ring. The ring has a low profile and rises 5mm from the finger (0.19 inches).
The ring is in good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
