Overview:
Distinct antique Victorian pill & match box pendant (circa 1880s to 1900s) crafted in 14 karat rose gold.
With beautiful hand engraved details including a cascading floral display, the pendant opens to accommodate a photo or keepsake. The dual purpose treasure highlights how Victorian jewelry blended adornment with everyday utility. Women's clothing of the era often lacked functional pockets, so small containers were worn as pendants, attached to chains or added the chatelaines. The beautiful piece is still practical today as it is a work of art. The bale measures 5mm and can accommodate a thin to medium thick chain.
The pendant is in good condition. We have not cleaned the piece in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
