Overview:
Finely detailed antique French hallmarked carnelian intaglio ring (circa 1880s to 1900s) crafted in 18 karat yellow gold.
Carnelian measures 17mm x 11mm (in very good condition and free of cracks or chips).
The Greco-Roman themed bust is carved into the carnelian and set into a heavy (19.2 gram) bezel set square mounting. The hefty ring makes a nice statement on the hand, suitable for a man or woman to wear. The low rise ring (3.5mm - 0.13 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
The ring is in good condition with light wear evident. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve patina and collector value.
