70s Natural Opal Diamond Pendant Vintage 14k Yellow Gold Freeform Abstract

Overview:

Finely detailed vintage freeform opal & diamond pendant (& brooch) crafted in 14 karat yellow gold (circa 1970s).

Natural freeform opal measures 27mm x 17mm (estimated at 13 carats), accented with an estimated 0.15 carat round brilliant cut diamond (estimated at G-H color and SI1 clarity). The opal is in excellent condition and free of cracks or chips.

The opal is freeform cut with the mount custom created to fit the opal. The opal exhibits a fiery play of colors from green to orange, yellow, purple, red, turquoise and blue. The pendant is also fitted with a pin backing for wear as a brooch. The piece has a substantial feel (weighing 13.4 grams). A great example of 1970s jewelry with a distinct abstract design.

The pendant is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
